The EASIE-RTM series is based on the original Erlangen Active Simulator for Interventional Endoscopy (EASIETM) designed by Hochberger, Maiss and Matthes. This series allows the realistic simulation of interventional gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures such as EMR, ESD, and EUS using ex-vivo porcine gastrointestinal organ packages. These specimens are obtained from the meat production industry and provide a realistic tactile feedback with the possibility to use commercially available endoscopic and surgical devices. The newest model for the simulation of diagnostic and interventional colonoscopy is the ColoEASIE-2.
Advantages of the ColoEASIE-2 model are increased portability due to a reduced footprint. The ColoEASIE-2 models can be easily stacked and shipped. The simulator also has improved durability due to a new design with an increased wall thickness. The rubber lip at the base of the simulator prevents movement of the tray when the endoscope is advanced into the specimen. Different specimen types can be used in the same simulator tray. The simulator includes clamps to fix the specimen in position. The tray is compatible with all EndoSim Lower GI simulation specimens.
The ColoEASIE-2TM simulator can be used for advanced interventional colonoscopy procedures such as EMR, ESD, polypectomy, hemostasis and full thickness resection.
